Eric Politzer studied history at the University of Minnesota and
Nankai University in Tientsin. He lives in Brooklyn, New York and is writing a
book about the Shanghai Bund. In the course of plowing through decades of
the North-China Herald he has come across a great deal of material redolent
of its time and place, and takes pleasure in sharing it.
