Tony was recorded in the studio of the Shanghai Music Conservatory in 1996, with Coco on vocals and Zhang Xiaolu on Sax. Me on Guitar, in open-G tuning. It was written for two Tony's - Tony Zhang, my business partner at the time, and a guy named Tony Davenport who worked for Reuters TV in Hong Kong, and was leaving. The track features a snippet of sound from the late Daisy Kwok. I was banned from the studio immediately afterwards because I was an outsider and the conservatory's leadership couldn't figure out what the hell I was doing, which was recording a tune.
