Frankie's Place Restaurant and Cafe - 81 Tong Ren Lu (and Nanjing Lu across from the Portman). Tel: 6247-0886. Authentic Singapore cuisine. As soon as you walk into this small, yet cozy and well-decorated restaurant, the aroma will confirm that you've found the real deal. With a wide variety of Singaporean and S.E. Asian dishes on the menu (plus the usual Chinese dishes but with a Singaporean touch), your taste buds will be refreshed by the curries, spices, and break from the usual Shanghainese fare. Frankie adds a personal touch to the all-around fine service by individually greeting all his patrons. Prices are very reasonable.
