THE TIGER TRUST

Today there are fewer than 5,000 tigers alive in the wild. The illegal trade in tiger parts claims the lives of two tigers every day. Most of the tigers are killed for their bones, which many Asians believe have strong medicinal powers. At this rate the tiger could be extinct by 1998-the next Year of the
Tiger. The Caspian tiger, the Javan tiger and the Bali tiger are already no more. Does the continued use of tiger parts for medicinal purposes justify the extinction of others?

In 1993 The Tiger Trust was founded in UK to fight the perpetrators of this tragedy. An office in Hong Kong was set up in March 1994. The profits of this CD will go directly towards funding efforts to save the South China tiger (at present estimated to be 25 in number), and building sanctuaries in China for Siberian tigers that have been rescued from poachers.
